HAWK Jet Simulator
To design and provide the CNC code to manufacture a full size cockpit of a HAWK Jet fuselage.
The bulkheads and Structure would be manufactured in 18mm plywood

The requirement was to produce a full size cockpit for a Red Arrows Hawk Jet. This would ultimatly be furnished with Computer equipment and controls to be used as a Hawk Jet Flight Simulator

The only piece to work with was an original cockpit screen and a scale model..

Working in BLENDER, i scalled up the model, using the the full size Screen as a means to confirm i'd have the correct size.

It was in Blender that i ensured the integrity of the 3D model i'd created was Watertight before i imported this the FUSION 360 engineering design tool

Fusion 360 is where the framework was designed, using the Blender model for curve tracing to produce the wooden structure as seen in this illustration taken from Fuction360.

The woodwork was CNC router cut from PDF files , could have also used the G-Code, both directly produced from Fusion360.

This photo has a genuine Hawk Jet screen in position to confirm correct scale of the Cockpit.

Minor changes, that included mounting points etc made during construction were laser scanned ( more accessable in cave environments) to be imported back into Fusion360 for any changes to be incoporated for any future production (G-Code) runs.

Solid Model / Component Design and Manufacture
I guess i'm a Hobiest. I served my time as an Apprentice Draughtsman, having kept up to date through being hands on, and managing a couple of design offices through my career.
I enjoy Reverse Engineering components, some here manufactured in a variaty of materials , printed through specialist printing bureaus, materials as well as basically plastic can be Stainless Steel, Titanium etc.
